Meet The Pacific Blue Management Team
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carlon Cathey’s first job was in his family’s interior design and furniture business. He inherited his family’s business values of hard work, high standards, and exemplary customer service, and he has brought this dedication to all of his endeavors, including Pacific Blue Vacation Rentals. His formidable administrative and technical knowledge and his staunch integrity make him uniquely qualified to fulfill your property management needs.
He has worked on the Mendocino Coast as a property manager for three years, and in that time, he has learned a lot about the challenges of property management and the benefits and drawbacks of different methods and approaches -- which is how the seeds for Pacific Blue Vacation Rentals took root. Thanks to his business background and strongly held values, Carlon realized that he could offer a vastly improved vacation rental management model. Together with his business partner, Stephen Dunlap, he runs Pacific Blue Vacation Rentals with an emphasis on:

Stephen Dunlap brings building know-how, a successful business background, and a high-energy and efficient approach to problem-solving to the table. With decades in the roofing industry, as well as experience in construction, gutters, and rental maintenance, he has the skillset to keep your customers happy and your accommodations top-notch.
Stephen has roots in St. Louis, Missouri, but he got his start in roofing in Ventura, California, in 1976. After four years in the industry, he started his own roofing business in 1980 before moving to Dallas, Texas, in 1985. While in Texas, he constructed mobile home parks and continued to work as a roofer. But California was calling, and he returned to Ventura in 1987, moving to Fort Bragg in 1988, where he resides to this day. He is the proud father of three grown boys (veterans of the Army, Coast Guard, and Air Force, respectively) and the devoted owner of Toby the Shiba Inu.
He expanded his successful roofing business, Dunlap Roofing, from the Mendocino Coast to Ukiah in 2004, and in 2010, he branched out to gutters. Between the two businesses and his coastal and Ukiah offices, he runs a fleet of 14 vehicles and oversees a staff of 18, enabling him to respond rapidly to his customers’ needs. Finally, in 2016, he branched into property management with his business partner, Carlon Cathey, establishing Pacific Blue Vacation Rentals. Throughout the years, he has perfected the skills needed to maintain a sturdy and sound home, ensuring that guests can rest easy in a comfortable and well-constructed vacation rental.
