COWABUNGA – Fort Bragg, California

The Cowabunga is in a vintage RV park in the historic Noyo Harbor ~

This rental is completely pet friendly - We do charge a flat rate pet fee of $75.00 per pet and that fee covers the whole stay!

SURF’S UP, DUDE! Ready to catch some waves, explore the coast, and hang loose? We have the perfect place for you: the “Cowabunga,” a glamping travel trailer located in the heart of historic Noyo Harbor.

Kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, surfing… you name it, we have it! You’ll never be bored while you’re here.

Whether you’re relaxing after a long day on the beach (it’s hard work, but somebody’s gotta do it, right?) or you’re taking a break between adventures, the Cowabunga is a great home base.

This 30-foot-long trailer has around 359 square feet of interior space and a maximum capacity of 2 adults and 4 children.

It’s a relaxing refuge where you can unwind and rest up for the next day’s adventures. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and 4 bunk beds are located on the opposite end of the unit. They all have top-of-the-line mattresses that are custom-made locally, so you’re in for a great night’s sleep!

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 5 beds in this unit, however there is a queen sized bed at one end and 4 bunk beds on the opposite end. This unit is perfect for an adult couple and some kids. The bunk beds are small and will not be very comfortable for adults or tall people.

Channel your inner moon doggy or gidget and get ready for a far-out vacation with friends and family at the Cowabunga!

Since this is a working harbor, the sounds of harbor life might not suit light sleepers, but if you like unusual environments and new experiences, then you are in for a treat! Let the barking seals, the soothing harbor foghorn, the boats coming and going, and the tide lull you into a blissful and calm state.

This unit is located in the Sportsmans RV Park in the heart of the Noyo harbor

Noyo Harbor

Noyo Harbor was first established as a port for logging and fishing back in the late 1800s. It is an active, fully operational harbor, the first such harbor north of San Francisco Bay.

The harbor is reminiscent of the famous Cannery Row in Monterey, which includes fisheries and a full marina with classic and vintage fishing vessels of all types. The harbor is a wonderful place for seal-watching, kayaking, or just sitting back and enjoying the foghorn and the coming and going of boats.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can find plenty of fine and casual dining options within walking distance of each other. You can’t go wrong with the delicious fresh fish, caught by local fishermen and prepared by talented local chefs. (Excellent vegetarian dishes are always available, too.)

There have been many classic movies and T.V shows filmed here over the years, including The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming! (1966), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), Overboard with Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn (1987), and the T.V series Murder, She Wrote (1980s).

Everyone was very friendly and respectful
What a wonderful opportunity to get a chance to stay in an RV with our family. We had a great time exploring the nearby beach and sitting on the private pier watching the wildlife. The park was very quiet and welcoming. The Cowabunga was stocked with everything we could have ever needed and it was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The water stayed hot for all four of our showers.

The location is great. Noyo harbor is a cool place and is just a 2 minute walk. If you want to experience what it's like to be in an RV, without driving a RV you should definitely stay here. It's surprising how wonderfully efficient the interior design is. It was my first time booking via airbnb and my first time staying in an RV. On both counts, it was a fantastic experience.

My family and I love to tent camp, but since the nights are getting colder, we thought we would try staying in an RV. The Cowabunga was the perfect choice! The RV park and harbor it is located in has lots of charm, respectful and friendly neighbors, and we felt safe staying there. Tons of little amenities, including a fire pit, picnic table, and chairs outside for your own campfire. As mentioned, the bunk beds are small and best suited for kids, but a smaller adult (5'4) could also fit on them if needed. Great communication with the rental company and RV owner; they came right out when we had an issue with the heat, and the owner regularly but discretely checked the propane tanks outside the unit to make sure we had what we needed. The Cowabunga is located near one of the most breathtaking parts of the country up in California's north coast. Easy access to downtown Fort Bragg or the nature of Mendocino, and the Cowabunga comes with a list of hikes and beaches to visit that are just outstanding. Would recommend

Sportsman's Park/Pacific Blue offers RV and mini houses at Noyo Harbor and our first stay with them in August was a great experience. We've been going to Fort Bragg annually for more than 30 years. Usually camping then at motels as we got older. This was a fantastic alternative. A little camping atmosphere but without tents and porta potties. We had campfires, BBQ, kitchen amenities, bathrooms plus in walking distance to great seafood restaurants and fresh seafood shops. There was a problem with one of the RVs we reserved and Pacific Blue had upgraded us at no charge to a mini house before we arrived. The upgrade and service was above and beyond what they needed to do, but they hooked me as a future long term visitor. I highly recommend this experience to anyone that visits this area. Also they clearly indicate the bunk beds in the RVs are small....and they are, but this makes it perfect for a family with children. OR short adults, Hehehehe

We didnt know what to expect when renting an RV at Sportsman RV. Super glad we did. Rv was super clean and location is the best thing about this place. Great seafood within walking distance as well as being able to cook our own food for the kiddos. Camp fire at night and kids playing frisbee, even spent the day at one of the many beaches in Mendocino county. Kept the kids off of their phones and tablets that was the goal! Next year we will try to stay here again and maybe charter a fishing boat! God willing. Thanks Pacific Blue

We had a blast visiting Fort Bragg and staying in the Cowabunga RV. We are a family with young children and the RV was a perfect home base for us while exploring Ft Bragg. The RV was super clean and the sleeping setup was perfect with bunk beds for our kids and a master bedroom for us. Loved the fire pit at night and the harbor views. BBQ/kitchen setup was also wonderful...we fished as a family with the nearby Telestar charter (highly recommend, located down the street) and came back to the RV and grilled our fresh catch. Great location- you can walk to all the amazing restaurants on the harbor (NOYO Fish Co was our fav). Located near so many great beaches and hikes. Safeway and Harvest Market nearby. Carlton was amazing and left us a list of hiking suggestions and we did them all! Everyone at the park was so kind and quiet at night. This place is a gem. Hope to be back soon!!! Thanks Carlton and team for going above and beyond!!!

We had an amazing stay at the Cowabunga! It was very clean and felt very peaceful. Gotta love all the details from the surfer decor to the binder with all you need to know, even suggestions of where to eat, what beach to go to. The kids loved their night lamp, the board games, and especially the fire pit with provided logs...okay, we all love it, not just the kids. It was all very thoughtful. The owner, Carlon, was also very friendly, helpful and was always fast to respond, which we really appreciate. Just wish the bathroom space was a little bigger. But then again it is an RV and we get a pretty good size refrigerator. So it was a trade off. The only main negative is that we can't stay longer because vaca is over. It was definitely a FUNtastic time and would highly recommend!

Most people hold you off until its convenient for them not this host its all about his customers I highly recommend this host and we will surely be back. The area is safe quiet and relaxing for the whole family

Location, location, location...if you love great food. Easy to walk to many tasty restaurants. There is a little pier to enjoy the sites and relax as well as a fire pit. The RV has lots of space for a family to sleep. Very comfy bed! Perfect if you want something unique and different from a traditional space.

What a great stay!! First time staying in an RV and Fort Bragg/Mendocino but definitely not the last! We loved the cozy layout and great location! Next to plenty of restaurants, shops, hwy, and ocean. We had no trouble sleeping- past reviews mentioned a loud fog horn so we were prepared for it, but we truly barely noticed it in the background it was so far away. Hosts provided firewood and all the necessary amenities, tips, and instructions a tenant could need. Will definitely stay here again! :)

Wow what a fun, unique experience especially for kiddos in a perfect location!! Super family friendly. We actually surprised our kids with the RV stay; theyre use to hotels. And my kids were quite surprised and excited when they saw the RV. The main bed and bunk beds were very comfortable. Amenities were very accommodating! They even have make-up remover wipes (for those who like to put on make-up). The RV had basically everything a house would so if you dont feel like going out to eat, grab some groceries up the hill at Safeway and cook/bbq your own meal and enjoy the stay - thats what we did for an evening. We loved the private pier. Even saw a seal swim by and watched the sunset. Would like to return and try the small houses next time!

This was a perfect spot to stay and enjoy Fort Bragg. You must eat at Princess Fish Market- crab roll or prawn tacos! Also the crab and cream cheese stuffed jalapenos IN the crab roll! Amazing vibe and the best food we had all weekend. We went whale watching right from the dock that is walking distance from the trailer. We also went horseback riding on the beach only a ten minute drive away. The trailer is walking distance from the ocean for a morning or evening stroll also. Bring some DVDs if you like to watch TV.

Very nice trailer in a very nice location. We stayed here 5 nights with our two young boys. Great spot as a base for adventures. Noyo harbor is charming and quiet and close to the city center without feeling busy. The trailer has a separate room up front for the kiddies with 4 beds in it, its nice to be able to close the door after bedtime and still hang out in the kitchen/living room area. If youve never been in a travel trailer before then you might be surprised by some things but as trailers go this one is actually very nice and roomy, we never felt cramped. The hosts were super helpful, we had a problem with the heat the first night and they showed up very early the next morning to sort everything out, after that the heat was great so dont worry, my wife does not like to be cold and she was fine in this trailer during winter. The hosts even bought us dinner to make up for the first chilly evening, I considered it very kind of them and felt they went above and beyond. The boys loved it and our whole family has fond memories of our stay in Cowabunga, well be back.

Such a cool place to stay!! My kids loved it, the camper looked brand new - sink, bathroom, beds, everything was spotless and shiny. Had everything we needed and was in the perfect location to explore and experience Fort Bragg. It's a great place for families, especially for the price. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back again.

We loved our mini vacation so much! Great amenities! The beds were amazing! The owner upgraded all the beds and pillows with beds from a local company and my oh my! I wasnt expecting that level of comfort in an RV! And I cant say enough about the location. Although its in the heart of town it was still so peaceful I think in part because it is right in the harbor! Well be back! Again and again!!!

Wonderful choice if you're in Fort Bragg! Fall asleep to the lull of the distant foghorn and awaken to seagulls right in the middle of Noyo Harbor. Close to town, beaches and hiking spots. Cowabunga was so comfortable (hot water shower, full kitchen, fridge and freezer), we forgot we were in an RV! The beds are amazingly comfortable too! Will definitely stay here again.

This rental is located in a classic, old school RV park that have been in the harbor for decades. I personally think that is adds to the rustic harbor experience but there are some who do not like being in an RV park. Please look through all of the photos on this rental so you can get an idea of what the park is like so you can make a personal determination if this is right for you .

Using the door lock : When you arrive, go to the black key pad on the door, press the corresponding numbers for the code itself. After you press the last number press the unlock button in the image in the center and wait 5 seconds. You will hear a chime indicating that the door is unlocked. Proceed to pull the handle and the door will open.

This rental is all about getting away from it all, the unit does have WiFi but NO PHONE in the unit. The beds are all custom made and are super comfy. There is some super cool ceiling mood lighting as well as a small deck to get out end enjoy the sounds and feel of the harbor.

There are garbage cans for the trailer park at the inside entrance to the park on the left side when looking back from the unit.

There is only room for one vehicle which can park directly beside the unit. If there is need for a second vehicle, please reach out to us so we can try to accommodate if possible. Since the parking is right behind the unit and there are other units close by, please try to be as quiet as possible early in the morning and late at night. Thank you !

Children must be supervised at all times on the wharf. No climbing on the railing at any time for both children and adults
